学習者がくしゅうしゃさんとテキストを読よんでいた時とき、この「任まかせる」と「任まかす」が、色々いろいろな形かたちでたくさん出でてきました。私わたしも大混乱だいこんらん。使役しえきの形かたちを取とらないのは、そもそも人ひとに何なにかをしてもらう、させる意味いみがある動詞どうしなので、使役しえき形けいにすると不自然ふしぜんなのかと推測すいそくします。でも、「任まかす」の可能形かのうけいは「任まかせる」になってしまうのか？混乱こんらんしますね。深ふかく考かんがえず、「任まかせる」の活用かつようと受身形うけみけいは例外れいがいで「任まかされる」と覚おぼえましょうか。

When my student and I were reading a certain text, the words「任せる」「任す」 came out a lot in various forms. I was also very confused as well as my student. Lol
There is no Causative Form of these words. I guess it is because the meanings already conclude making people do something in the first place, so I guess it’s unnatural to use it. Also, you see the Potential Form of 「任す」is 「任せる」, which is the same as the word 「任せる」. Very confusing indeed. Without thinking deeply, let’s use the word「任せる」in all forms and just remember only the Passive Form is an exception, which is 「任される」.

個人的こじんてきには「任まかせる」をよく使つかいますが、私わたしのおばあちゃんは「あんたに、任まかすわ。」とか、「じいちゃんに、任まかしときなさい。」とか、「任まかす」をよく使つかいます。私わたしのばあちゃんは、生粋の江戸えどっ子こなんですよね。関係かんけいあるのかな。
ただ、辞書じしょでは意味いみが同おなじ。でも、並ならべてみると何なにか違ちがう気きがしたのです。調しらべているうちに、素敵すてきな投稿とうこうを見みつけました。

Personally, I normally use 「任せる」, but my grandmother always says, 「あんたに、任まかすわ。（I’ll leave it to you.）」 Or, 「じいちゃんに、任まかしときなさい。（Just leave it to your grandpa!）」. My grandmother is a native Tokyoite, referred to as 江戸っ子（Edokko）, who is known for using a specific dialect for some words or phrases. It might be related to the reason why she prefers using uncommon word「任す」.
However, the meaning is the same in the dictionary. But when I lined up the examples above, I felt something was different. So, I looking into it more and found a nice post.

確たしかに、「任まかせる」は、信頼しんらいしている人ひとに仕事しごとや役割やくわりをやってもらう、お願おねがいする時ときに使つかいます。
「任まかす」という時ときは、単たんに自分じぶん以外いがいの人ひとに仕事しごとや役割やくわりをやってもらう、お願おねがいする時ときに使つかいます。
少すくなくとも、私わたしはこのようなニュアンスを受うけます。
ということは、うちのばあちゃんは、人ひとを信頼しんらいしていないのかな？
おばあちゃんの性格せいかくを考かんがえると、あながち間違まちがっていないかもしれない、と思おもう今日きょうこの頃ごろでした。笑

After reading this person’s post, it made more sense to me. Certainly, 「任せる」 is used when I ask someone I trust to do my job or role.
When you say 「任す」, it is used simply when I ask other people to do my job or role.
At least, I receive this kind of nuance.
Does that mean that my grandma doesn’t trust people? Considering her personality, it might not be wrong, I would have to say. hehe
